Since week 3 we have been swimming in our pool. This week we have been getting some instructors come to our school to teach the year 0's to 6's skills about swimming. So far we have learnt backstroke, freestyle, stream lining and how to hover on our back then turn to our front, it was really fun to learn different techniques.
My favourite style of swimming right now is probably stream lining because it is quite easy to attempt on your first try. My least favourite is backstroke because when you do it you feel the water escape into you nose.
I am a Year 8 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 1 and my teacher is Mr Reid.

Chemistry In The Kitchen!
In room 10 we are learning about Kitchen Chemistry. So yesterday we did an experiment, it was about the liquid, gas and solid our ingredients were only a tin, water and a pressure cooker. We saw if the heat would take the pressure from the water. It was frightening for some of us but some weren't scared I have got to admit it was pretty COOL! We realised with the lid on top it would trap the air so when there was a lot of air the lid exploded because it couldn't take the heat.
