Yesterday the Maniakalani schools went to the Hoyts cinema. We were in the same cinema as people from Tamaki College, Stonefields, Te Kura Kaupapa Maori and Tamaki Primary.
Our film was about sign language, trying to encourage everybody to give it a go because it is really fun and not that difficult to learn. Overall I really like our film as it showcases that sign language is really important and shouldn't been forgotten.
In my opinion if I had to pick a favourite from the other schools it would probably have to be Tamaki College's film about Respect. Now days respect is something that people don't show towards each other and it just reminds us to respect people the way they are.
I am a Year 8 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 1 and my teacher is Mr Reid.
