The agency has tried their hardest to collect information by going to houses and knocking on their doors over the last couple of months. Last year the national population census reached 83.3 but was aiming for its target of 94 percent. The review also found out that just 68.2 percent of Maori have been filling the census out too.
I am a Year 8 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 1 and my teacher is Mr Reid.

The New Zealand statistics have revealed that more than 50 people haven't been filling out the census. Filling out the census is required to be filled out but if it hasn't then you could be fined 500 dollars.

New Zealand's Largest Waterslide
New Zealand's largest waterslide has opened in Hanmer Springs, North Canterbury. They have named the slide Conical Thrill and believe it or not it is 13.5 meters high.
It includes a twisting hydro slide before a drop that is really steep. It was officially opened on Friday morning and five new pools were also opened.
They gave the honor to a class from Leithfield to have the first slide. The new features took up a lot of years of planning and constructing as well as spending a lot of money for people to enjoy.

Moa Facts
A few days ago our group read a book about moa's. It talked about their past and what they did. I wish I saw moa bones at the museum.

Jacinda Adern at Polyfest...
A lot of kids from the Pacific Islands participated in the Polyfest last week!
Polyfest is four days of the Pacific culture with music, food, and competitions. Among all the 242 people there was a special person who went who just came from Raratonga, guess who, you give up, if you don't comment who you think it is right now if you give up I'll tell you. It was our prime minister great I know right, it was New Zealand's own Jacinda Adern! She was the first ever Labour prime minister to ever attend Polyfest.
I have a question for you now. Did you attend Polyfest?

A Secret Bottle In Spain?
On March 14th a family in the northern part of Spain found a message from New Zealand that was sent eight years ago! The person who sent it was a boy, his name was Julian Joy in the message had his address, and age in a wine bottle. Last month the people in Whangarei received a response from a German woman, her name was Luisa she said it was her mother that found the note in a place called Mundaka on the Atlantic coast of Spain. Julian's mother said, "We'd forgotten all about the bottle because it was eight years and we were just so excited to see if it got anywhere!" She thought that it would never make it out of Whangarei harbor but apparently, it did!

Christchurch, Grey District, Selwyn, Westland, Tasman and Taranaki are under state of emergency. 500 people made emergency calls because of this bad disaster. In the South Island about 200 people are still trapped after spending the night in their busses after state highway 6 was closed.

Cockroaches On The Menu!!
Kiwis
Today I will be writing a Description about Kiwis
Colour:
The colour of Kiwis are brown usually they are dark brown because they live in forests that are muddy. Kiwis are sometimes hard to see because their skin tone can match objects around the forests.
Size:
The size a Kiwi is 2.20 pounds and their height is 20 inches It is the same size as a female chicken. Kiwis are very small. Not all but some are small and some are big.
Food:
Kiwis eat tinier things than them like Spiders, Earthworms, Larvaes, Centipedes, Beetles, Snails, Frogs, Cockroaches, Wetas, Caterpillars, Crickets and Chrysalises.
Predators:
The predators of Kiwis are Ferrets, Cats, Dogs, Possums, Weasels and Stoats. Sometimes Kiwis can come across Possum traps and fall into it. It is easy for the predators to attack the Kiwi because it is quite slow.
Habitats:
Kiwis like to live in the Forests or Snowy places. When they’re there they are kind of Warm but mostly Cold that’s why they have feathers. It is good for them to live in Snowy places more than the Forests because their predators will get cold and run back.
In Conclusion:
In conclusion Kiwis are very special and Native to Aotearoa (New Zealand). Not that many Kiwis are in Aotearoa because they have been killed and that is sad.
